MISSION STATEMENT – WIMMERA SAFETY GROUP

The Wimmera Safety Group aims to facilitate a forum for members to interact on matters of Occupational Health and Safety and Workcover.

BACKGROUND

The Wimmera Safety Group was formed in June 2005. The potential for establishing a network was identified by industry and community representatives of the Horsham Learning Town Advisory Group
This charter establishes the composition and explains the objectives of the Wimmera Safety Group.

OBJECTIVES

The Wimmera Safety Group will
• provide a forum for the discussion of occupational health and safety matters to help raise awareness and expertise in our community
• maintain a membership register
• conduct and coordinate meetings
• promote the sharing of ideas, information, resources and training opportunities
• provide information on occupational health and safety through events such as seminars, workshops and forums
• maintain an ongoing liaison with government authorities (including the Victorian Workcover Authority) and other organisations relevant to the field of occupational health and safety
• promote the WorkSafe website
