Funding Eligibility (VIC)

Skills Victoria is providing guaranteed government-subsidised training places for people who meet a certain eligibility criteria. This means that all tuition fees charged by training providers, including Wimmera HUB, are regulated by the government. This means that the fees we charge eligible applicants are often much lower than you would otherwise pay.

This makes now the ideal time to gain new skills or upgrade your existing skills.

To be eligible for a government-subsidised place you need to meet the following criteria:

You must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen, or
  • Be an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of permanent visa), or
  • Be a holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen), or
  • Be an East Timorese asylum seeker, or
  • Be a holder of a Temporary Protection Visa

If you meet any of the above criteria, you must also be one of the following:

  • Be under 20 years old, or
  • Do a Foundation Level course (e.g. Certificate of General Education for Adults, CGEA), or
  • Do an accredited course that is higher than any accredited courses you have already completed in the past, or
  • Be an Apprentice
