CHC40108 - Certificate IV in Aged Care
This is the qualification for those already working in the Aged Care industry and already holding Certificate III in Aged Care, and addresses work primarily in high level care residential facilities.
Entry Requirements
To gain entry into this study you must be recognised as competent, through either previous study or RPL, against the following core units from CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent):
- CHCAC318B Work effectively with older people
- CHCAC319A Provide support to people living with dementia
- CHCCS411B Work effectively in the community sector
- CHCICS303A Support individual health and emotional well being
- CHCPA301B Deliver care services using a palliative approach
- HLTAP301B Recognise healthy body systems in a health care context

Study Pathways
This program is accessed through successful completion of Certificate III in Aged Care, or pre-requisites as above. Successful completion of this qualification will enable study at Diploma level in Community Services Work or Leisure and Health.

Full time study from February to October

Delivery Modes
Students will be studying via Self-paced or distance learning, with supportive monthly workshops scheduled.
Placement Information
Students not currently employed in the Aged Care industry will be supported to complete 40 hours of practical placement.

As a Registered Training Organisation, Wimmera HUB is able to order SmallPrint Learning Resources textbooks at a competitive price for students. However, students may source and order their own textbooks. Please speak to the Program Coordinators on how to access suitable textbooks.
Cost
The cost for this course will vary, depending on your eligibility for government funding, whether you wish to RPL, complete a partial enrolment or hold a valid concession. A deposit is required to secure your place in the program. Assistance is available for those who are unable to afford fee payment up front.
