CHC30708 - Certificate III in Children’s Services
This course provides a qualification for those who are working, or seeking work as a Childcare Worker, Playgroup Supervisor, Family Day Care Worker or a Nanny. You will be learning how to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitate their leisure and play, and learn how to enable them to achieve their developmental milestones.
There are no formal academic requirements needed to complete this qualification. Intending students should be able to successfully complete a Certificate II level Literacy and Numeracy Questionnaire.

Study Pathways
Successful completion of this course will enable students to then complete Certificate IV in Children’s Services (Outside School Hours Care), or any of the Certificate IV Child, Youth and Family Intervention programs. Entry will also be open to any of the Diploma programs in Children’s Services, Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family Interventions, enabling you to work as a Coordinator, Leader or Director in Children’s Services.
Duration
This is a full-time program, with classes running from February through to November.

Delivery Modes
This is a Flexible Delivery program, with a combination of Self-Paced Learning and classroom time. Students will also be able to access this program via distance learning.
Placement Information
The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development recommend’s a minimum number of hours of practical placement. Wimmera HUB will support students to gain practical placement of 110 hours in the local area.
Resources
As a Registered Training Organisation, Wimmera HUB is able to order SmallPrint Learning Resources textbooks at a competitive price for students. However, students may source and order their own textbooks. Please speak to the Program Coordinators on how to access suitable textbooks.
Cost
The cost for this course will vary, depending on your eligibility for government funding, whether you wish to RPL, complete a partial enrolment or hold a valid concession. A deposit is required to secure your place in the program. Assistance is available for those who are unable to afford fee payment up front.
