CHC30208/CHC30308 - Certificate III in Aged Care/Certificate III in Home and Community Care
Two for the price of one! This dual qualification will enable successful students to work in the Aged Care sector in both residential facilities and in elderly people’s homes. You will become proficient in health monitoring and personal care, offer environmental and social support and information and advocacy services.
There are no formal academic pre-requisites to studying this program

Study Pathways
This dual certificate can be accessed by successful completion of Certificate II in Community Services. Upon completion, study can be undertaken in Certificate IV Aged Care or Home and Community Care, Community Services Advocacy or Community Services Work. Further education can then be undertaken in the Diplomas of Community Services Work or Health (Nursing)
Duration
This is a Full time program, beginning in February and concluding in November.

Delivery Modes
Students may access this study by attending classes held at Wimmera HUB. Distance study is available but students will need to attend periodic workshops for practical instruction.
Placement Information
Wimmera HUB will assist students to complete 100 hours of practical placement. Students must have successfully completed units prior to placement and in particular the Personal Care unit, and have a current First Aid Certificate (HLTFA301C) and a current National Police Check prior to beginning placement.
Resources
As a Registered Training Organisation, Wimmera HUB is able to order SmallPrint Learning Resources textbooks at a competitive price for students. However, students may source and order their own textbooks. Please speak to the Program Coordinators on how to access suitable textbooks.
Cost
The cost for this course will vary, depending on your eligibility for government funding, whether you wish to RPL, complete a partial enrolment or hold a valid concession. A deposit is required to secure your place in the program. Assistance is available for those who are unable to afford fee payment up front.
