CHC20108 - Certificate II in Community Services

This program is designed to introduce the student to work in a variety of Community Services industries. These include Aged Care, Disability, Children’s Services and Youth Work. Students enrolling in, and successfully completing this program have the added advantage of also gaining 21773VIC Certificate II in General Education for Adults, preparing them for study at a higher Certificate level.

There are no formal entry requirements.

Study Pathways

Successful completion of this program will enable you to enrol in higher level community services qualifications, such as Certificate III in Children’s Services, Certificate III Aged Care and Home and Community Care, Certificate IV in Disability and Certificate IV in Youth Work.

Duration

This is a Full time course, classes on Tuesday, from February through to October.

Students must successfully complete all units to be awarded the qualification.

Delivery Modes

This will be a classroom based program.

Placement Information

Wimmera HUB will support students to achieve 40 hours of practical placement in a Community Services facility of their choice. Students must have successfully completed CHCOHS312B Follow safety procedures for direct care work, HLTFA301C Apply first aid and be in possession of a completed National Police check and Working with Children’s check (if applicable) prior to the start of placement.

Resources

As a Registered Training Organisation, Wimmera HUB is able to order Aspire Learning Resources textbooks at a competitive price for students. However, students may source and order their own textbooks. Please speak to the Program Coordinators on how to access suitable textbooks

Cost

The cost for this course will vary, depending on your eligibility for government funding, whether you wish to RPL, complete a partial enrolment or hold a valid concession. A deposit is required to secure your place in the program. Assistance is available for those who are unable to afford fee payment up front.
